Team in Training Update

We are in week 6 of training with our running/walking efforts. Our group run was last week was on Alki Beach - beautifully sunny morning, perfect temperature. We start out the group runs walking together, it is a date, after all - ha! Don still isn't able to run, which is mentally frustrating for him, although he is recovering well and is right where he should be. Last week was the first time I actually ran - made it for 5+ miles, and then it was time to quit. Don urged me to go ahead and I did - time to push my knee a bit, but not too much. It was good, albeit my left leg is still a bit 'delayed' when I get tired. Amazingly enough, certain muscles are still in recovery mode from the ACL reconstruction. I am off to PT next week for another running evaluation to see if I have progressed. All in good time. We are currently so happy to be involved with the Team in Training/Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, we don't really care what the running looks like for us - knowing we are able to walk the marathon in honor of those battling a blood cancer puts it all into prespective. More on this later - our involvement with this organization is getting very exciting - it is all so humbling, encouraging, and empowering.
