Christmas fun

Christmas fun today involves some shopping today at the grocery store. The kids are in on the food plan for the holiday - we'll be doing smoked salmon, shrimp, halibut, talapia and crab on Christmas Eve. We're working our way up to the Italian tradition of 7 different kinds of seafood on Christmas eve. Maybe in a few years when the kids will appreciate all the cooking effort. For now, we're thrilled they eat what they do for fish! Dinner on Christmas will be spinach lasagna. Yum, yum.

Don will be 42 on Saturday. The kids plan to celebrate with chocolate cake and presents. The kids have decided we need to give Don cookies for his birthday, as Daddy is known as the cookie monster in our house :) Of course, the 'real' gifts will be kept a secret in the event that Don reads this blog before Saturday :)

Here are a couple of snow pix from the past few days - we have been buried in snow, but enjoying it. My mid-western roots are alive and well. I still know how to shovel snow and can help the kids make snowmen and a snow fort. Incidentally, the snow fort has become the lunch spot for the kids over the past few days.

Matteo wants to play football and not much else in the snow. He's all about the tackling and football rules. Dominick & Anna want to make snowmen and go sledding. All good stuff. Take a close look at Anna's snowman - she had to put hair on it!
