Disney...let the plans begin...

So, it's official. We are officially going on vacation in January - the plans are all coming together:) I spent some time on the phone today planning/confirming details of our trip. We are having a special Character breakfast for the kids on Jan 10th, the day the kids will run their race. They are so excited - there is some "special stuff" to this due to the Marathon weekend and our enrollment in the events. The kids will run a race, get a bib number, t-shirt and a medal. I also learned to today from my contact at Walt Disney World Sports that the kids can do face painting, inflatable/jumping fun, walk around a kid-centered sports expo that will talk about healthy eating habits, exercise, etc, there will be characters and all kinds of fun. I can't wait to see our kiddo's at this event. It's going to be such a great trip. And, I'd like to work there! How fun would it be to work in the land of Mickey and expose children to healthy life style choices? Cool gig, I think.

Other WONDERFUL fun plans - we have learned that our dear friends Russ & Elisa are taking us out for a grown-up dinner while we are staying with them during our trip. Their youngest daughter, Amanda, will still be home from college/winter break while we are there and is going to watch the kids for us. We've been told to pack 'dress-up' clothes. Don will wear a suit and I'll probably dust off a black dress from the deep recesses of my closet. Not to mention the shoes...I'll have to go shopping in my closet for shoes I haven't worn in I don't even know how long! I'm excited!! A night out to a very nice restaurant, the company of treasured, dear friends. What a gift! Thank you Russ & Elisa !

Back to reality...as I'm typing this Burl Ives is singing 'Holly Jolly Christmas'. Dominick is dressed up as Batman, Matteo is wearing Spiderman gloves, shoe covers & sun glasses and Anna is sporting a Darth Vader costume. The explanation - my good friend Sara brought over her son's old dress-up trunk last night. Don is at his company's Christmas party tonight and having great food while I have the best entertainment right here in my family room.

Time to sign off...we have big plans for PJ's and we are watching Santa Claus is Coming To Town tonight. I love the fact that my kids are as excited as I am about these Christmas cartoons from my own childhood. Love and peace to you all~
