Anna was barely two years old when I bought her a cute, pink stuffed animal that was a monkey.
She quickly named him Pink Monkey. Tricky, huh?! Anna is now 4 years old, Pink Monkey has been around for 2 years. He has had some adventures in his little 2 year life.
Early on, Anna always made sure Pink Monkey had a diaper.
Of course, it is important that Pink Monkey wear sunglasses when Anna wears them.
Over the past two years, the monkey collection in our household has grown. In this photo, Anna's friends are all set to head into Seattle for some fun. You probably can see there is more than one pink monkey in this photo. Notice the color difference :) And yes, a few brown monkeys have appeared too. The big pink monkey's name is Softee.
A smart neighbor & friend told me to get an 'extra' pink monkey in the event that the Pink Monkey went missing. So, we now have three pink monkey's - Pink Monkey, Rosie & Rose.
Christmas 2008, Pink Monkey is ready to pose with Cinderella. Note: Pink Monkey is soooo loved on, he's starting to look less Pink.
This picture is the night of Anna's 3rd birthday. I took this picture because it had been a year since Pink Monkey had arrived and is still sleeping next to her, along with a gift she received that day - a box of princess dress-up shoes. Love this.
Sometimes Pink Monkey gets tucked into bed in Baby Stella's crib. Baby Stella is a doll that I bought for Anna that is sooooo second rate compared to Pink Monkey.
Sometimes Anna sleeps with Pink Monkey anywhere and everywhere.
Hugs, shades, and Mickey Ears, back when Pink Monkey was still Pink.
Pink Monkey attends tea parties. Pink Monkey talks, ALOT. He has a very whiny voice - Anna has been known to put him in time-out when he cannot stop talking. Mainly because I threaten to give Pink Monkey a time-out when he talks too much. Only so much whining I can handle, even if it comes from Pink Monkey.
Pink Monkey goes airborne for fun at Sun Mountain Lodge.
Pink Monkey is snuggled and loved on by Anna and her sleeping cap.
Sometimes Pink Monkey sits in a cereal bowl.
Oh yes, this might be my favorite. Took this last week. Anna decided to put on a newly purchased bathing suit. Of course, this meant that Pink Monkey needed to wear her old one, which she put on with scotch tape.

I mentioned Pink Monkey talks too much. Well, a few months back, Pink Monkey was rambling ALOT. I asked Anna to please keep him quiet. She then said, "I got it Mom". Anna walked over to the kitchen drawer, grabbed some tape and promptly put the scotch tape on Pink Monkey's mouth. Anna then proceeded to mimic Pink Monkey's voice by saying "hmm mmm hmmm mmmm", which, of course, was caused by the tape. Yes, I laughed out loud when this happened, still makes me chuckle as I'm typing this.

Pink Monkey sometimes gets attached to balloons and is thrown over the 2nd floor landing to see if he can parachute. Anna's idea, not mine.
Pink Monkey goes on wagon rides, bike rides, is walked to school in the stroller when we walk the boys to school, and is usually stashed away in a backpack for almost any adventure. I took Anna once to pick-up some running shorts at Nordstrom, a rare occurrence. She brought a backpack that had Pink Monkey in it, along with some flip-flops to change into while I tried on the running shorts.
Pink Monkey even had a scissors incident, Anna cut his ear one day. I had to sew it to fix it. You can tell if you look at the picture with tape on his mouth - poor little guy has lopsided ears.

Little Anna and her Pink Monkey are too, too cute :) Love all the photos.
Oh my word, what a beautiful post. Love the pictures of Anna and pink monkey ...through the years. So great, Riss.
I'll bet Pink Monkey really enjoyed the Kia Sorento Super Bowl Commercial! Next thing you know he'll be getting a sewn on tattoo or a piercing. Really enjoyed the sharing. I hope you are printing these out as they will make a wonderful "book" to give the kids one day about the early years!
Hey RB - I am printing the blog out monthly - you know me and memorabilia. Each kiddo has a binder that will be theirs for reminiscing of the adventures we have as a family.
I love this little girl!!!! She and her pink monkey adventures are sooooo adorable!!!! And what a great idea to print these out and put them in a binder! I wish I had done this for my two grown children!
