We started the day with Anna's birthday muffin, breakfast fun and presents - woo hoo!
Shortly after breakfast, Anna couldn't wait to put on her Birthday Girl Shirt - it is all about the accessories for our girl.
She's funny, cute, crazy independent and just a delight in our lives. She couldn't wait to wake-up today and be '5'. She is very content to snuggle on my lap, Don's lap, whenever, where ever we might be. She's 5, but still very much our baby :)
And, these guys....well....they started school today. They were up early for the birthday fun but were more than ready for their adventure.
All set to go in what the kids call 'suits' for school :) New clothes, new shoes for everyone, new, new, new. It's a theme we're going with right now in this move.
We set -up locker shelves and helped them get their things situated and off they went without looking back this morning.
Last night, Dominick was a bit nervous about not knowing anyone in class. However, this morning he was all excited and all business to turn in some paperwork and wait his turn to see his teacher and get his name tag.
And, this kiddo, well, he's my sensitive guy. As we were getting snuggled into bed last night Matteo wanted me to know that school is a very, very long time and he would miss me very much while he was at school. During prayer time, Matteo asked God to watch over our family as school started, hoped that everyone has fun today and hoped that nothing bad would happen. He worries, but he was brave and hard at work as I took my last peek into his classroom before we left the building.
My little guys, they were a bit worried last night. But, this morning, excitement took over and they were all set to go to their new school and check things out. I gave then kissing hands as we waited for the school doors to open. I am hoping they will feel comfortable enough with everything they have to take in today. I hope they aren't too hungry as they have to wait awhile to get to lunch. We will pick them up at 3:50pm and go out for fruit smoothies after school is out to celebrate their first day of school. I am sending prayers of peace and comfort to my boys today, all of them actually.
Don starts his job today. He wore a grown-up suit and went off to work after we took the boys to school. Don hasn't worked a full day of work in over a month. I am wondering if he is ready for reality today. It's here, this big day in our world.
It's a new routine with a big 5 year old in our house! Anna and I are going out to lunch, celebrating with some birthday fun and birthday shopping for her from gift cards she has received.
Let the adventures begin, my friends!
