Kickball Rules

Took the kids to Pine Lake Park today to play kickball. Matteo gave me a LONG list of rules to follow -most of which seem to be part of survival skills in first grade recess. Serioulsy - there were 6 different rules in which I heard about before we got in the car to drive to the park. Here is how it went - I pitched/rolled the ball, Matteo & Dominick and Anna all took turns batting/kicking. The final score: kids15, Me 0. It might have something to do with the fact that I was always on the pitcher's mound, chasing and bouncing the ball at the kids. It was quite fun, I must say. The giggles were everywhere, their little legs running the bases and Anna thinking she totally mastered the game. Dominick and Mattteo were Paul Konerko and Scott Podesednick, players who were part of the 2005 White Sox Team and I was Ken Griffey Jr, yes a Mariner player from the year 2005. Yes, our boys have seen the 2005 World Series DVD and are constantly living in that era for the White Sox. What can I say? It must be genetic.
